at a time when there are little to no good pop-punk albums coming out (and i mean about every 8 or 9 months something comes along thats decent enough to suffice), and at a time when you can’t even count on a band like New Found Glory to put out a good album (Not Without a Fight is bland as hell), you look elsewhere for your pop. well, look no further than a few dudes from Jersey who go by the name of A Day To Remember. 3 years ago they put out an album called “For Those Who Have Heart”. it seemed like they couldn’t decide whether they wanted to be hardcore (HXC!) or pop, and so they walked the line, and not very well either. terrible terrible album, and so one would then think, terrible band. fast forward to 2009 and put in “Homesick”. yes, A Day To Remember still can’t decide whether they are hardcore or pop punk, except this time the band has found a nice balance and a good niche for their music. they have found some of the catchiest hooks in the world on this album, and some of the sickest breakdowns. i really enjoy the poppier stuff on the record. if you are a fan of pop punk at all, i highly recommend bumping this. yeah, its probably broxcore, but it’s catchy, man. good stuff ADTR, good stuff. the last song is also surprisingly epic for a closer on a pop-punk album as well. pick up “homesick”, and if you aren’t sold yet, listen to the track “Have Faith In Me” via youtube video…..
